Stream from A Professional Camera or Computer

There are 3 ways you can choose to perform the livestream on the Lovecast platform:

  1. Go live directly from the Lovecast mobile app
  2. Go live from a streaming camera with their app (e.g. a GoPro or Mevo camera)
  3. Go live from a camera that can be connected to a computer (e.g. a DSLR camera)

We recommend most users to choose #1 - Go Live with Lovecast App, because it is the easiest, most fail-proof, and in most cases already gives you amazing streaming quality. However, if you prefer #2 and #3 for reasons such as better integration with your onsite sound system, or you are a professional photographer, please follow the below steps to setup.

Step 1: Get your Lovecast RTMP stream URL & stream key

Open the Lovecast host app on the web, click “Use RTMP" on the left side panel. You will be able to see your stream URL & stream key, which will be used in the next step.

Note: this setting is only visible on web version of the host app.

Step 2: Configure your 3rd party software to stream to Lovecast

If you are unsure how to do this, we have guides for popular devices (GoPro, Mevo) and external cameras (such as webcams or DSLR).

Important Notes
  • Your guest and test event have different stream keys. Make sure you remember to change these (depedning on if you're testing or if you're broadcasting the real wedding)

Step 3: Adjust video quality settings

Livestreaming relies heavily on the internet. Lovecast mobile app uses adaptive bitrate technology to automatically optimize your video quality in various internet conditions. It is possible that your third-party software does this too, but it’s always safer to check their official documentation for adaptive bitrate support or test out the streaming quality at your event venue.

Step 4: Start/end the stream

To start/end a stream, use the “start” and “end” buttons from your camera or third-party software.
