Connecting Camera to Computer
Conecting your camera to computer to use for Livestreaming
Different types of cameras require different steps to connet them to your computer. Once connected, you can use them for livestreaming (see our guide). Some cameras, such as webcams don't need any special setup. If you can't find any software for your particular camera, it's still possible to use a hardware switcher (discussed at the bottom of this article)
Plug-And-Play Cameras
All Webcams
If not built-in (like a laptop), simply connect the device to your computer
Cannon
Use the EOS Webcam Utility.
Fuji
Use the X Webcam Utility. Note: Some newer Fuji camera's can be used directly without this sofware
GoPro
We reccomend streaming directly from the GoPro using our guide. However, if you have special needs you can also connect the GoPro as a camera to your computer using the GoPro Webcam App
Nikon
Use the Nikon Webcam Utility.
Olympus
Use the OM-D Webcam Utility.
Panasonic
Use the LUMIX Webcam Utility.
Sony
Use the Imaging Edge Webcam Utility.
Hardware Switchers
If your camera doesn't nativley or through software support connecting to your computer, you can still use a hardware switch to connect the device. One example switcher you can use is the ATEM Mini HDMI Live Switcher. This device allows you to connect camera(s) via HDMI.
